Slava Semeniuta
Slava Semeniuta is a digital artist and photographer who actually lives in Sochi, Russia. He creates pictures in some strange universes where neon colours and fluorescence are natural, the images are mysterious and magical.
My Response
for this talk i created a reflection effect but instead of going out and finding natural puddles and reflection light on it i created a homemade version where i got a bit on bin bag material and but i in a trey then poured a bit of water inside making a puddle then next i used a torch and some coloured glass to create the reflection and desired colour of the puddle.

Andreas Gursky
In spring of 2011, Gursky visited Bangkok and observed the Chao Phraya that flows through the city and empties into the Gulf of Thailand. Andreas Gursky’s “Bangkok” series depicts the dark, moving waters of the river, whose shimmering surface possesses the qualities of abstract painting.
My Response
Where did you take these images.
for this task i went to the river themes and used the bright lights from the scyscrapersand other srtuctored and used those refections on the themes for my work.

Andrea B. Stone
Inspired by impressionism, Stone atmospherically connects facades, reflections, and cityscapes in her impressive work. With meticulous composition, and by using coloured accents, the artist creates works that remain in our memory. Stone’s photographs do not just temporarily shift our perspective, they invite us to see the painterly aspects of the architecture we encounter in our daily lives.

Alvin Langdon Coburn
The patterns of shape, light and line in this photograph were created through the use of a kaleidoscopic contraption invented by the American/British photographer Alvin Langdon Coburn, a member of London's Vorticist group. To challenge the idea that photographycouldn't take an abstract image, Coburn devised an attachment for his camera lens made up of three mirrors, clamped together in a triangle, through which he photographed a variety of surfaces to produce the results in these images.
My Response
For this I smashed a mirror and gently laid the shards in a way that made the light bounce off and reflect in other fragments creating an abstract composition or something under a microscope.

Chosen Strand
I have chosen to develop the strand.
the reflection strand i chose was reflection in mirrors, i chose this over the other stands because it stood out to me the most and i knew i could expand a lot from it and improve it and make it my own. the theme is reflection- which interpretation
develepment 1
the idea for this task was to experiment with reflections so what i did is take photos large structures/buildings such as the music block and then to create the reflection part i put textured glass infront of the lens to make the effects you see here.

development two
for this task i went to the Thames and took photos of the river and the lights reflected on it. i choose to go to a busy part of London with lots of colourful skyscrapers to the effect of the colors mixing together.

How is your project developing- what is the most interesting idea so far? Distorted environment? Introduce the idea then explain what technique you will use to achieve that idea. My most interesting task so far was the previous one where i took photos of bright colors reflected on the river themes, but i then switched to a new idea in my latest development, as i decides to switch to a kaleidoscope as i felt with my old task i couldn't really expand much more on it and it was a bit bland, so by using the kaleidoscope the lens instantly reflects the whole image and all whilst creating lots of different patterns and colors in it, instantly making my work more creative and vibrant whilst also now allowing me to have so much more room to expand and focus on things like all the different patterns and colour-ways i could make with the scope and also focus on on trying out different levers of contrast and brightness

www i did a excellent job at understanding the task and was able to use the kaleidoscope in lots of creative ways.

Development 4
for this task i took the kaleidoscope to central London and practiced using it on sky scrapers and other large buildings instead of smaller structors by putting it at different angles was able to create lots of different effects and colours.

Development 5
for this task i continued using a kaleidoscope and used my past skills from the other development and applied those techniques into this development combining all those different styles together to improve on my work i also visited a few different locations to test them out and experiment with different locations as my goal is to find populated areas suspended by skyscrapers as i found areas like that are best for the type of images im trying to create. What were you hoping to capture at a different location.
development 6
in this development i decided to keep my kaleidoscope idea and continue building on my work and experimenting with different locations colours and shapes. the main difference in this development to my others is experimenting more with the amount of people in my images to decide wether its better too have lots of people, a few or none. my images to black and white (?) Was the location important in this development? For example- did you want to include people?

Alexey Titarenko
Alexey Titarenko who is a Russian photographer is known for his black and white work which links time, location and memory. in my next set im going to apply his technique and try make my work more similar to his by taking the colourful images from my kaleidoscope and turning them black and white.
development 7
This task was my final piece and last development, for it i used a kaleidoscope which was multi coloured has has has a design on it which purposely distorted the world when u look through it, so i used that to my advantage and used the kaleidoscope to reflect buildings in central London. For my final piece I chose to go to London Bridge and Canary wharf. These two spots were chosen because they were best for the type of photos I wanted , which were skyscrapers and busy populated areas.
all images
Then to expand my variety I also chose to make half of my images black and white and then use high contrast. I did this to contrast the original look of all the bright vibrant colors and because I liked how it made my work look more dystopia and apocalyptic. This black and white idea was inspired by Alexey Titarenko who is a Russian photographer who is known for his black and white work which links time, location and memory.
